My name is Wiktoria, though many know me as Victoria Veil. I am a self-taught fine art photographer and tattoo artist from Poland.
My journey with photography began over 10 years ago, but in 2020 I started creating self-portraits. What started as a way of exploring my own imagination slowly became something much deeper — a language through which I could express emotions that words could never fully hold. It is my personal and spiritual form of self-expression.
My work lives somewhere between reality and dreams. It is inspired by forgotten folklore, dark forests, changing seasons, ancient myths and the quiet beauty hidden within ordinary landscapes. These are extraordinary images of ordinary places, transporting us to another dimension wrapped in dark folklore aesthetics.
Every image I create is carefully crafted rather than simply captured. I want my images to feel like fragments of forgotten memories, scenes from dreams or pages torn from old fairy tales whose endings have long been lost.
There is beauty in the scent of damp earth after rain, in the first frost covering autumn leaves, in moonlight filtering through bare branches and in the stillness before sunrise. These fleeting moments have become the foundation of my art.
Growing up surrounded by Polish landscapes and Slavic folklore, I developed a fascination with the mysterious atmosphere hidden within nature. My work reflects this connection—where darkness is gentle rather than frightening, silence feels alive and every forest path seems to conceal a story waiting to be discovered. Every photograph is a quiet conversation between nature, memory, and imagination. Between reality and dreams, there is a place where forgotten stories still breathe.
